I am in the middle of an intense writing project for a local client and let me tell you, I have been reading some incredible stories of determination and commitment. If you think home business success and achievement takes time, you might consider the demands and challenges faced by adult students working towards a university degree.

My task is to write a short bio for each student, to be read by a narrator as the student walks across the stage to receive his or her degree. I will have as many as 500 bios to write over the next few weeks.

These are committed individuals seeking greater success and achievement, greater knowledge, personal skills and professional credentials in order to advance in their chosen fields. In most cases, they are doing this while still working full time and raising a family.

One of the key ways to apply Affiliate Power to your Internet Marketing business is through Social Networking. Some online marketers may not realize that you can do Social Networking with music.

I am active as a Twitter member and through Twitter I was introduced to a great online music sharing site called Blip.fm. My Blip.fm user name is BlipStarr.

Blip.fm allows members to access and listen to millions of songs FREE, posted by members. The Blip.fm Terms of Use outline exactly how songs can be added to the Blip.fm playlist with due and proper respect to the legalities of copyright.

Basically, once you become a member, you have your very own Internet radio station where you choose the songs you wish to listen to. Also, you can “blip” or “reblip” your favourite tunes so other members can listen to them as well. It’s all very easy to set up and quick and easy to do once it is set up.

Here’s where the “Social Networking with music” part comes in. In your Blip.fm profile, you can include a link to your personal or Internet Marketing website. As you become active as a member of Blip.fm and fellow members get to know you, they will be interested in knowing more about you, so some of them will click your web link to find out “what you do.”

Additionally, you can set your Blip.fm station to automatically send your music blips to other Social sites like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and more. Here is my personal testimony for the Brian Tracy audio program, The New Psychology of Achievement. I am quite excited about the value this great resource has to offer.

While traveling recently I made use of the time to listen to all six CDs in the program. You may already know that I am a big fan of Brian’s personal development and training materials. The New Psychology of Achievement lives up to Brian’s high standards for delivering beneficial insight and strategies in an informative and entertaining manner.

The sub-title for the program is “Breakthrough Strategies for Success and Happiness in the 21st Century.” We live in a new age of marketing and communication. Many of the old paradigms have dropped away and to be successful in this new age, you need to learn and practice new strategies for approaching all the old, familiar challenges.

In The New Psychology of Achievement, Brian relates one of the biggest questions he most often gets asked: “How can we compete more effectively in such a rapidly changing world?”

When the economy is bad and people are losing their jobs, their homes and more, who in their right mind would want to start up a new business? I mean a business of any kind, never mind a home business opportunity?

I’ll tell you who: somebody who is planning ahead and thinking of the future. Consider this favourite Chinese proverb: The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

If you are in a position where you are worried about your financial future, then it might have been to your advantage to have “planted a money tree” a few years ago. If you failed to do that then, the bad news is you may not have a foundation to carry you through any bad times you may be anticipating. The good news is you can plant a “money tree” today to begin preparing for the future.

But here’s the thing. I can only give you the seeds. You are going to have to plant them, water them and nurture them if you hope to one day enjoy the fruit of your home business income hopes and dreams. Don’t worry; we’ll be working together on this, so you’ll have plenty of help along the way.

You probably recognize from surfing the Internet that Affiliate Marketing programs are a popular way to make money online. Lots of people are doing it. I call this method of marketing “Affiliate Power for the home business.”

In fact, many online marketers earn significant home business income through Affiliate Marketing. Some of the most successful marketers focus on programs that produce residual income because it is a passive source of income that is typically low maintenance.

An example of a residual income program is where the customer purchases a monthly membership or a monthly subscription and as long as they maintain their membership or subscription you, as the sales affiliate, continue to receive a monthly commission. That is what I call affiliate power for the home business.

In some cases, where sales do not involve memberships or subscriptions, residual income may come from customers who return to the affiliate site via your affiliate link and make additional purchases at a later date. Also, there are some affiliate companies that track the visitors you send to their site and credit you with any sales generated for a defined period of time, say six months or 10 months or one year. This sort of arrangement will be outlined in the affiliate agreement.

Companies and other business people who make their products or services available to marketers on an affiliate basis particularly like this method of marketing because it means they do not have to pay the affiliate marketer unless or until a product or service is sold.

When you are planning your Home Business, personal development should be high on your list. It just makes sense to increase your knowledge and build your skills. That’s how you develop the confidence to move forward, to make bold decisions and to achieve above average results.

I have heard it said that you shouldn’t go into things to test the waters. Rather, you should go into things to make waves! I can tell you, it works for me.

My philosophy has always been to stretch my limits in order to break through personal barriers. I will admit that there have been times when I have questioned my sanity and I have even terrified myself when putting this philosophy into practice. But do you know what? I have never failed to be rewarded in some way for my boldness.

You can experience above average results in your life, too, if you are willing to take a bold step and actively do something to enhance your chances of achieving your dreams.
