It’s surprising, but not everybody gets the connection between personal income and personal development. It’s been said that your personal income will never outpace your personal development. That being the case, I think it’s time we went back to the basics of personal development.

Check out these ideas on how to set up a very basic personal development program.

1. Buy the book, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill. This may sound like an “Old School” approach, but trust me; the wisdom presented in this classic book has stood the test of time. In fact, it is one of the all-time best-selling books on personal development!

Think and Grow Rich was one of the first motivational resources that put me on the road to my own program of continuous learning and personal development…

2. Read the book, cover to cover. Be committed to personal development and read at least ten pages or more every day. If you make it a daily habit to review motivational material like Think and Grow Rich, it will do wonders for your attitude, your confidence and the rate of your progress.

Make it your goal to completely read the book through within a month’s time and begin applying the techniques recommended by Hill. Hey, why not read it through twice, if you can!

3. Re-read this great personal development resource continually beyond the first month. If you refer to Think and Grow Rich regularly, even after the initial reading, you will gradually condition your subconscious mind for success and will train yourself to become rich.

This three-step program may seem pretty basic, but that is what personal progress is all about: taking small, well-defined steps that advance you towards your desired goal.

The great thing about it is anyone can start this no matter where they currently are in life. And as Napoleon Hill so effectively explains, it all comes down to how you direct your thoughts throughout the day, each and every day.

And if you commit to the program, whenever you stop to consider where you are currently compared to where you were when you started, you will be amazed.

The best part is the positive impact personal development has on your income. There are numerous examples of people becoming rich simply by training their mind to achieve the goals they have set.

Many successful home business enthusiasts have proven that you CAN think and grow rich! Personal Development: isn’t it time YOU got back to the basics?
