The secret to success is all about going above and beyond the average. This is a fairly basic truth, whether you are a home-based Internet Marketer or you are seeking success in any other field of interest or activity.

I know it is easy to make that statement, but for many aspiring entrepreneurs, it is something else again to actually walk the walk of an achiever. In reality, it takes courage to break away from the crowd and from your own old habits and to do the things you must do to achieve your aspirations.

I think author Anais Nin expressed it best when she said, “It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before, to test your limits, to break through barriers.”

I am not familiar with Nin’s literary work, but I have her quote stuck on my wall and use it for inspiration regularly.

Modern day business trainer, speaker and author Brian Tracy offers some additional insight into how a person can rise above the average. …

Brian is a recognized master of personal development. Many of his training materials cover the theme of advanced achievement in one way or the other. He always gives the ‘student’ great motivational tidbits to inspire and encourage them to work at going above and beyond the average to succeed.

It is important to understand who is responsible for your success. Brian says, “You are fully responsible for everything you are, everything you have, and everything you become and achieve.”

In many ways, our personal success comes down to service: how effectively we serve the needs and interests of other people.

Going Above and Beyond “Your rewards in life will be in direct proportion to the value of your service to others,” says Brian. “All things are amenable to hard work. In fact, the harder you work, the luckier you get.”

According to Brian, a sure way to achieve success is to work harder and stay in the ring longer than the average person, and provide more value to those you serve than you expect to get compensated for. Brian calls this The Law of Over-Compensation.

“Always put in more than you take out or you’ll never take out more than you’re getting now,” he advises. “Do more than you’re paid for to get paid more for what you do.”

That is exactly the secret to accelerated achievement in anything you do. It is what going above and beyond the average is all about. Whatever your goals are, look for ways to perform well above what other people might be willing to do. You will be rewarded.
