Are you the kind of person who dreams of a better life? Happier relationships, more income, more time to enjoy the blessings you’ve been given? Well, here are some tips on how to make 2014 YOUR year for higher achievement.

To begin with, start with the basic idea that improvement and advancement in any area of your life will begin by making changes to the way you are doing things now. In other words, if you want something different than you are getting, you will have to do something different than you are doing.

My hero of personal development and higher achievement is Brian Tracy. Brian has coached countless individuals and companies on how to accelerate their success in a variety of personal and business areas. Here are a few things he says about making productive changes in the way you do things. …

First, he points out that there are things you are currently doing that are producing results for you. These are the things to identify and do more of or develop further.

For example, if you run a home business or do any kind of Internet Marketing, consider the marketing methods you use. What methods are working for you? What methods are showing promise? Identify them and make plans to focus on them in 2014.

He explains how people have a tendency to fall into a comfort zone of doing low value activities. However, if we want to achieve more in 2014, we must spend less time on low-value activities and focus more on higher-value activities.

Third, Brian suggests that you could start doing something you have never done before. He relates this to the profession of selling: you can learn and apply methods or techniques that you have not tried before. It’s all about gaining an advantage over your competition.

Fourth, he notes that there may be things you are doing that are simply not working at all. You could cut out some of these unproductive activities to allow more time to focus on more productive ones or on introducing new marketing methods that better support your goals.

Before you drop something because it doesn’t appear to be working for you, make sure you have given it its proper due. Examine it to see if the shortcoming is in the way you are approaching it. Sometimes all we need to do to turn something around is take another run at it with a fresh perspective or a renewed understanding of how it works.

So, how is 2014 shaping up for you? Do you see some great things happening in your future, or is it just going to be another year of the same old same old? If you are dreaming of something better, remember that the power to make positive changes is in your hands.

Actually, the power is in your mind! It’s how you think about things and approach them. Make a fresh commitment to learning some new things and enhancing your skills and attitude about success and higher achievement.
