If you want to get something done, give it to a busy person. People who are already too busy just seem to be able to get additional tasks done too! I think the secret to increased productivity is to apply a few self-improvement ideas.

In so many instances it seems that the more a person takes on, the more efficient they become. Brian Tracy calls it “The Law of Forced Efficiency.” Of course, they may still not get everything done on their list, but they do seem to get more done than they would have if not under pressure.

Not only that, but it forces a person to prioritize their tasks more effectively and focus on what is most important and most urgent. I have to admit that I will often work better under pressure than if think I have all the time in the world to do a task. …

I might have developed that personal trait when I was a newspaper reporter and editor a few years ago. At that time, I learned that if you finished writing a story too soon, details could change before it gets published and you might end up doing some last minute revisions anyway!

When it comes to people asking me to do something for them when my schedule is already full, if I say yes, then I feel obligated to the person and I don’t want to neglect their needs or risk forgetting to do their task, so I usually jump in quickly and get it out of the way and off my mind so I can focus on “my” tasks.

Whether you are working on your own tasks, or tasks given to you by others, if you want to increase your productivity, it helps if you have been learning and applying some self-improvement ideas in advance.

I am a big promoter of continuous learning; not only for the benefits it can bring you personally, but for the value you will be able to create for those around you: your family, your community, your place of employment or your own profession.

Here are some ideas:

Self-Improvement Ideas~ Be willing to take on extra tasks: You will learn to prioritize, focus, commit and apply your effort more efficiently. These are all skills or traits that will make you better at anything you do.

~ Be confident and take control: Successful people learn to make quick decisions and act on them. This is often what sets leaders apart from followers. When you feel in control, you feel more confident.

~ Be firm in your goal, but flexible in the plan that takes you there: It is great to be confident and assertive, but keep in mind that there is always a better way to do something. Stay open and flexible to the possibility that an alternative suggestion or method might actually be better than your “planned” action.

Self-improvement ideas and programs abound. Your best course of action for a successful Internet Marketing business and a successful life is to always be doing something to improve your skills and abilities in some way. Find a personal development program that interests you and start working on it today.
